Direct Success Enterprises is the quintessential American entrepreneurial “success story.” My wife, Tammy, has been the organizational and financial force behind our company since its inception in 1992. I, Jack, am the communicator and sales person. Please allow me to share with you the story of how Direct Success came to be.
In the late eighties, I was a part of a targeted solo mail company “Mainstreet Marketing” which was owned by Cox Communications. Meanwhile, Tammy worked at a large insurance company (CNA) handling claims and writing manuals. In 1991, when Cox bought Valpack, I knew that the company was heading in a direction that didn’t interest me and that served as the impetus behind the start of our own direct response agency. We did the craziest, yet most rewarding thing we’ve ever done in our professional lives: we quit working for others and decided to begin our own marketing company, Direct Success Marketing. Tammy’s corporate background, work ethic, and organizational skills were the perfect complement to my relentless prospecting and insatiable appetite for new challenges. As a result of our teamwork, Direct Success Marketing has had the privilege of working numerous direct response campaigns for many types of businesses over the past two decades. It has been a great experience.
We have found that the fundamentals of marketing that we encourage, when applied to the latest technology, still out perform any other option a merchant can use to promote his business. Mass marketing is no longer an effective form of advertising, and it comes with a large price tag to boot. By contrast, Direct Success is poised to serve the marketing needs of any business that has an identifiable target customer with whom they desire to effectively communicate.
The evolution of our name to “Direct Success Enterprises” was a natural metamorphosis as we grew into being creative and relevant to the ever changing needs and layers of today’s marketplace. Our mission is to get businesses into contact with the right prospects. To this end, we have developed the following slogan: “We Know Who You Need to Know.”
